@@enduro_alex I’ve got the same bike same year, I raced it at blue slope, and over the winter at the sprint enduro at martins, I love the power but hate the flameouts and then it doesn’t wanna start after. Other than that though I love the bike. I had a dyno jet piggy back on it and just swapped up to a get ecu. Much better

Yeah I definitely notice some flameouts, but typically if you're on the clutch you can prevent a stall. 23:40 I think was a flameout for me but I didn't have the clutch covered. What ECU did you end up going with? Pros/Cos? Are you running stock exhaust?

@@enduro_alex I got the GET ecu from Slavens. I have the fastway endcap and the bike is uncorked. I have a Taco moto tuned Dynojet ecu for sale if you're interested. That was what I had before the GET.

I sold it after I purchased the WR250R. Some fellow from Ohio bought it. I'm sure its still running to this day.

@@papatorr3669 I bought a WR250R and a KTM350 EXC F after the DR350. Both are big upgrades over the DR. But I still think about the DR, especially for long adventure rides.

@@enduro_alex I'll soon be 65, and have been a street only rider since 1975. So off-road riding is new to me and the DR350 is more capable than I am and it's plenty tall so none of those newer taller bikes for me. I plan to lower the DR350 2 in.

Sorted Suzuki's are super reliable. That's a fine collection you have now. Keep ripping those 350s!

To be honest, I'm not standing enough! Most of the time during these races, I'm not riding my at my A game or even my B game. I'm not in the greatest physical shape, so I'm often in "Survival mode" which mostly has me riding safely and sitting, conserving energy. When you're an hour deep into a two hour race and you're running on E, standing really only happens when the terrain calls for it. I will say, in some situations, sitting does make you feel more stable. Lots of these races have greasy rocks and roots that deflect your front wheel and can really throw your balance if you're standing which takes energy away from you. Sitting sort of helps with this, keeping arm pump down too. When you sit down though, don't just sit your butt on the seat. Weight the pegs, squeeze the tank with your knees, elbows up and be ready to stand when needed. Welcome to NETRA! Stop by and say hi next time if you see me!

Definitely some techy spots in here. Nearly 100% humidity had everything pretty slick. This is in CT, mostly Pachaug trails.

No stabilizer. Just a bar pad and a doubletake mirror. The WRR is very stable bike. Other lighter bikes might benefit from a stabilizer if you're doing lots of high speed stuff.

Thank you! Stock clutch here. Smooth throttle and clutch modulation is key for traction... If your wheels are spinning, you're messing up!

Yeah! The days of running Shinko 244s or D606s are over. My current tire combo: Front MX216 Fatty Cheater, Rear Tusk Recon. Rear is not DOT.

Those were hella tough sections! Great job getting to check 4. "go fast in woods, slow on road" burned me! RIP! My gopro is getting long in the tooth. If I'm lucky I get maybe an hour of footage before it dies. Might look into a new battery or one of those mini's soon.

@@enduro_alex i plug mine into an external battery i keep in my hydro pack. Need at least an 8000mah (mine is a 10000mah) any bigger is just unessassary weight. Once to get the wire routed where it isnt in your way you dont even notice it. I tuck mine in where my hydration hose is routed. Works with my gopro 7black and my new 360 one rs. Worth a try 🤷‍♂️ never need to change the battery

Hey Rich, the WR250R is still in the stable! I will run that bike into the ground and continue to make videos on it. Normally, I let my riding do the talking but, I will definitely take your suggestion into consideration. I've been considering doing a full WR250R discussion video with the list of mods I've done and how they perform. Now I have some insight on the KTM side of things to do a "which bike is best for me" type of video as well. Stay tuned!

That’s great and thanks. I would say it’s obvious the KTM Is better. But people like me would love to hear it from someone who made the leap. I have a 2012 WRR Motor is stock. All I did was D 606 tires, tubliss, bars , Go Race Full Monty on my suspension. Which to me was the modification that really makes the difference and therefore makes the WRR competitive enough with the super enduro bikes. I have ridden KTM,S and Beta’s. 350,s I quite frankly loved them. They are clearly better than anything Japan is putting out arguably I guess. But I found them to be extremely powerful and when I got back on my WRR I felt more at home wringing it’s neck than riding 1/4 to 3/4 throttle on the KTM’s etc…. All my buddy’s ride KTMS and betas and Husky.

Finishing up my last reply. I appreciate the desire to do the comparison. Some day I hope to make the leap. But for now it’s my WRR. BE WELL and enjoy your new purchase. I think your KTM N needs a louder Horn. 🤪

Its a great place! Tons of single track, both technical and flowy! Also, legal! Be aware they check your bike registration at the gate now. They also cut some new stuff within the last year or two which is shown in this video.

"They" might be right on paper. However, you cant quantify tractor factor and god dang this is a comfortable ride when you're not picking it up.

The bike is performing extremely well on these challenging trails. I almost did this turkey run, but the rain scared me off. Really nice course, well done

Hey Pat, I've had the suspension done last season by GoRace. Its definitely not a game changer, but it does help. Good tires and proper maintenance is much more important. Hope to see you out there, I'll be at a couple turkey runs this year!

@@enduro_alex Yeah, I fucked up on tires. I have what is now called a K270 on the rear of mine I figured I'd just burn before replacing. Having attempted the turkey run last sunday...that was a mistake. Retired after very few miles out of pure exhaustion. No excuse for being new and bad but damn the thing was just caked with mud the entire time. We ended up grouped with the guy on the T7 and his friend for a while, just pulling each others bike's over the top of shit.

@@patw9175 Oof yeah those were not the tires to use for that day. Sounds like you got your workout! If you're looking to keep the bike street worthy (DOT) take a look at the Tusk DSports. Along with better tires, rim locks (or tubliss) and sub 15 psi are a must for these types of rides. That T7 guy is a hero, I hope he had fun haha.

@@enduro_alex Yeah, it was rough. We were back in the parking lot after the MX loop. I was set up ok in terms of pressure and rim lock but I should have thrown that tire off a bridge right after I bought the bike. Oh well. I've already got a trakmaster ordered, I'm not messing around any more 😂. At this point the only road the bike is going to see is in between trails/riding to/from Foxboro and Wrentham. They're both 10 minutes from me. Otherwise the bike is going on the trailer. If we can get our endurance up maybe we'll see you at the upcoming enduro. Man it's crazy I never would have guessed how many two strokes there at these

On these turkey runs, they usually do a sound check with a Decibel Meter and probably check for the spark arrestor. I don't recall the last time I was sound checked at a Harescramble. I'll be honest though, trying to ride in New England, quiet is trick.

Hey! Yeah they were MICHELIN T63 front and rear. They were decent 60/40 tires, but I think they are discontinued. I'd go with the Tusk Dsports for a DOT knobby, but they will probably be pretty noisy. Anytime I go on the freeway now, I always wear earplugs!

I'm in the market right now for a EXC-F 350. Waiting for the local dealer to get one in stock or something used to pop up. The WR will be a better bike if you're doing any sort of highway/pavement distance. With that said, I love my WRR and will likely buy another in my lifetime.

@@enduro_alex most definitely, people underrate the WR because it’s not Orange. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Orange bikes too, and all good bikes for that matter. People like to hate on the WR tho since it’s a 250 and a little heavier. I’m looking to do some of the Secca and MSXC events around me in TN. Can’t wait. Your video and experience was true inspiration.

Thanks man! Harescrambles are nuts! You can get some pretty good results without going fast by just not getting wrecked! Editing this was def time consuming but I like the end result. More of my vids will probably follow this style, but I know a lot of other racers watch the full unedited video to see when they passed me or vice versa. Next year I'm gonna try to do some enduro (time trial) style races. Honestly might be kind of boring, so I will have to edit the crap out of those!
